Along with Holy Trinity, Rathmines, DGYC is running a 2 hour session to help 6th class pupils and their parents/guardians prepare for the big move to secondary school.

Through the use of video, discussion, games, journals and chats, we will go on a journey exploring the feelings we face during a big change like this, the influences that shape us and the growth opportunities among the challenges.

We will see how the Bible and God can help us all in this transition time, and there will be times for child and adult to discuss challenges and opportunities together, as well as a time for parents to hear from those who have children already in secondary school, and share concerns.

Spaces may be limited so make sure you book your place.

Venue: Holy Trinity Church, Rathmines, D06 N9W6

Date: Saturday 25th May 2024, 2-4pm

programme

We will be using NUA:Move videos. These will bring us through emotions that both parents and children might be feeling towards the move to secondary school, to foundations and faith and what we’re building our lives on. We will look at opportunities that are presented in secondary school and how faith in Jesus and the Bible may input into our lives, as well as practical tips.

The day is centered around children and parents taking part in the day together, and joining in conversations, questions and sharing with each other. And there will be lots of fun!

Parents/guardians will have an opportunity to join in a facilitated conversation (fueled by tea and coffee) with other parents, while the children get a chance to play some games and let off some steam.
